Trans-Port will be held again in Valparaiso, and will offer a congress day entitled “Vision 2040: safety and sustainability in the maritime industry”, which will be held on the afternoon of Tuesday, December 3. For its part, the exhibition will be held in parallel to Expo Naval 2024, from December 3 to 6, at the Passenger Terminal of the Port of Valparaiso.
“The objective of this congress is to promote a discussion on the challenges and opportunities facing the maritime industry facing 2040, with a focus on sustainability and port security. We want to be a space of reference to generate strategies that benefit both the actors in the logistics chain and the environment in which we operate,” said Rodrigo Bastidas, manager of Trans-port.
The congress will begin at 15:00 hours with the Keynote Speech: “Maritime Decarbonization with a view to GreenVoyage2050”, given by Lieutenant Commander Jorge de la Fuente Manríquez, representative of DIRSOMAR and DIRECTEAR. The day will continue with the block “Data Lake and artificial intelligence in Transportation”, by Option, strategic partner of the event.
At 15:50 the day will continue with Panel 1: “Port Challenges of the Future: Strategies for Agenda 2040”. This panel will include the participation of six experts, among them Romina Morales, Technology and Process Leader at Conecta Logística, who will act as moderator; and panelists Alexis Rodríguez, Regional Head of ET Execution, LAM, Energy Transition Execution at Maersk; Ramón Castañeda, General Manager of the Port of San Antonio; and Franco Gandolfo, General Manager of the Port of Valparaíso.
The last block, entitled “Panel 2: Port Security: Strategies against Organized Crime”, will begin at 5:00 p.m. and will include the participation of eight industry specialists. Pilar Lizana, Senior Researcher at AthenaLab, will moderate the conversation, which will also include Teresa Matamala, Corporate Manager of Operational Excellence at ULTRAMAR; Braulio Cubillos, Regional Director of Customs in Valparaíso; Captain LT Daniel González Salinas of Directemar’s International Affairs Department; Manuel Quintana, Prosecutor of the Regional Unit of Criminal Analysis and Investigative Focuses of the Valparaíso Prosecutor’s Office; and a member of the Chilean Investigative Police.
“Congress attendees will be able to find a program that combines technical knowledge, innovation and global trends. This is a key meeting point for those who wish to update and connect with industry professionals, participating in high-level panels and talks,” said Bastidas.
