– The new edition will be held between September 27 and 29 in person at Puerto Valparaíso, and virtually so that everyone can participate from anywhere in the world. – During the event, the International Congress will be held in parallel, where strategic issues for the sector will be discussed. The most important exhibition of the maritime-port world in Chile will be held between September 27-29, 2022 at the Terminal de Pasajeros Puerto Valparaíso, located in the city of Valparaíso, Chile. The fair will be spread over 5 thousand square meters of exhibition space, where 40 exhibitors and sponsors representing more than 15 countries will participate, bringing together in one place the supply and demand of the maritime-port industry. During the exhibition days they estimate to receive more than two thousand visitors. “The meeting will be a collaborative space for business networking, conflict analysis and the future of the industry. As representatives of Trans-Port, we want to bring together the exponents of the industry that will help boost trade, create jobs, and will be a boost to the economic recovery of the country through new businesses and the interconnection between the various areas of the maritime/port sector, both nationally and internationally,” said Rodrigo Lobo, executive director of Trans Port. Maritime transport is the main means by which international trade is carried out, allowing the shipment of large quantities of goods at a low economic cost. However, the adaptation of port infrastructure to new ship sizes, the capacity requirements of global maritime trade and logistics needs imply an investment figure for Latin America, only in new port infrastructure for containers, of around US$ 47 billion until 2040. In view of the need for growth of the maritime-port industry, the international meeting will be a meeting point between the supply and demand of the industry, creating spaces to establish business relationships and contact networks, as well as providing opportunities for innovation and development of the sector. CONGRESS The VIII version of the International Congress “Digitalization and Sustainability: The Challenges of the Maritime-Port Industry”, addressed to Latin America and the world, will seek to contribute to the economic development of the participating countries. For this purpose, the main actors of the sector will meet: businessmen, suppliers and national, Latin American and world authorities, who will exchange knowledge, experiences, development of technologies for equipment, and solutions for the correct maritime-port operation. The Trans-Port 2022 international congress will be held during the three days of the exhibition, with a full program of seminars and lectures related to the present and future of the maritime-port industry. The topics to be analyzed will be: Digitalization and Logistics Automation; Smart -Port, Autonomous Vessels; Cybersecurity; Community Builder; application of IMO standard and results achieved to date; local development of goods, products and services oriented to the industry; work of companies in the industry and its impact on communities; introduction to the market of new technologies not available in Chile, and the drive for sustainability in the industry.
